The sign on its attractive brick plinth at the corner of Wellin Lane and Village Street has now been a welcome addition to the village scene and celebrates its first anniversary..
We have waited a long time for the sign.We should welcome any comments on the sign.
The sign commemorates the designation of the Edwalton Conservation Area by Rushcliffe Borough Council in December 2005.
It depicts the coat of arms of the Chaworth Musters family who were Lords of the Manor of Edwalton for many centuries; Holy Rood Church which has been at the heart of the village for over 800years; and the farming heritage of the village from its earliest beginnings in the 9th century when Aedwald, a Saxon, set up his homestead or 'tun'. |
