| A new webasite has been created by one of our members, Gary Wood. on The Robin Hood Rifles. It is certain to become an exciting archive of our local Volunteer Regiment in which men of the village served in the Great War. |

| At the recent Committee Meeting the first thoughts were given to our programme for next year. Members were keen to have at least three talks or presentations with a village connection. |

The first census of population in England was held in 1801 by Act of Parliament. The return for the County of Nottingham are in our Archives; they show that the population of the County as a whole was just over 140,000; Nottingham borough was about 29,000, Rushcliffe Hundred about 8,000 and Edwalton 126.... a very small parish community. There were 25 inhabited houses with 27 families in the village, 64 males and 62 females. The occupation return shows that 100 of the inhabitants(or their families) were 'persons chiefly employed in agriculture'
